Step Nine: Now the Hue/Saturation box will pop up. To get rid of this, we will go to Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation. Step Eight: Now since the background, we might be left with some green tinges on the hair and face. Alternatively, you right click the selection and choose deselect. Press CTRL and D to deselect the selection. Step Seven: Hit delete and you will delete the green background. The green background will now be selected. The black and white picture should change to the background being completely white, and your sim being completely black. Step Five: On your original color picture, click on the bright green background. Don’t mess with any of the options, with the exception of 'Fuzziness’, you can play around with this if you want and it will make the selection a bit tighter, but it is not necessary. Step Four: A box will pop up that should have a black and white image of your sim in it. Find ‘Select’ and go down to ‘Colour Range’. Step three: At the top of photoshop there will be a bar where you find your options such as File, Edit, Help and so on. You can name it if you want, but it’s not really necessary. Step two: Double click on the background layer, you should get a box like this. If your sim specifically has green hair or something, you can use a different neon color such as yellow, red or blue, but make sure they are neon as it could pick up tones in your sim’s skin. I just use a plain wall and change the color to a nauseatingly neon green in game.Īnd for fucks sake don’t put your sim in a green top or you’ll end up with something like this
Step one: Take a well lit photo of your sim on a bright green background. If you have multiple CC sub-folders, repeat for all of them.īefore I dived straight into my tutorial on beard editing, I thought I might aswell show my technique for getting rid of green backgrounds without deleting any of your sim’s luscious locks, or ending up with a green halo. Click “Rename” in the bottom right hand corner.ĩ. Tick the box marked “Sym.” This will remove all symbols.Ĩ. This will remove all of the spaces in the file names.ħ. Click in the text box marked “Chars” and hit the space bar. We’re interested in the section with the header “Remove (5)”.Ħ. Select all of the files within that folder.ĥ.
Load the program and find your CC folder (for your game of choice, this works for TS3 and TS4…and possibly TS2).Ĥ. Back up your files (optional but probably a good idea).ģ.
Download and install the program in the above link.Ģ. This is where the Bulk Rename Utility comes in!! It does the work for us.ġ.
But imagine having to go through several gigabytes of files to fix this problem Did you know that the game can only understand underscores (_) and hyphens (-)? Even a space can spell disaster!īy removing all other characters and spaces, the game has an easier time understanding and loading our CC. It’s pretty common to come across a piece of CC that has some sort of symbol in the name “” and “~” are pretty popular. A large part of the lag is often down to the game’s inability to read characters and spaces in file names. We’re a hardy (and stubborn) bunch in the Sims Community and lag time of up to an hour is not unheard of. It’s very easy to accumulate CC, yet we know that it can cause our game to lag. I saw a post about this over on GOS and I thought that I’d write a little tutorial on doing this, as I’m awful at following anything but the most simple directions and I know that I’m not the only one haha! I take no credit in finding this out, just for writing this in a very simple way haha!ĬC is a huge part of our game and often the undoing of our much loved saves. You can now Talk about Sewing! Make sure your sim is at least at skill level 2.You can now blog about sewing! Because social networking skill is pretty boring usually, I do hope that this will make it more fun! You can either blog on your Phone (This is however NOT under 'Social networking’, but just another interaction on your phone.) You can also blog through your computer and it will also show up on your Blog app! This feature comes with 10 unique new posts!.Browse about Sewing will now help to increase your Sewing skill, it’s a tad slower, but it will still happen! (Thanks to the lovely Aurora on youtube for the suggestion!: ).Discovering a pattern will no longer freeze the game AND if you use the ‘Browse about sewing’ or the ‘practise’ interaction, it will give you numerous discoveries rather than after you quit the interaction! (as intended in 1.0.3, but awfully failed there :p).Sewing Skill now comes with various Challenges and Statistics.
